Animal studies support reduced food intake, weight effects and altered glucose handling.

Species translation to humans is uncertain.

Safety & Unknowns

Nausea is common. Severe hypoglycaemia can occur when used with insulin unless mealtime insulin is appropriately reduced. It can delay absorption of oral medicines and is unsuitable in gastroparesis.
