Current standard management
conventional medicineFirst-line care remains progressive loading physiotherapy, activity modification and analgesia. Second line: extracorporeal shockwave therapy, PRP injection, targeted eccentric exercise programmes. Surgery is reserved for full-thickness tears or refractory cases. Consultation with a sports-medicine physician or orthopaedic surgeon is recommended for any suspected tear.
